We'll arrange to talk about your business and what you need in a website. We'll chat about what kinds of customers will be reading your site, your marketing efforts, and general design options. We'll talk about the size and special features you'll need for your site.
Every website must have a domain name (ex. www.companysite.com) and a hosting service (a host is the place that houses your website and makes it accessible to the web).
DOMAIN - Either we purchase a domain on your behalf, or, if you have a domain, we'll need your access info.
HOSTING - Either we host your site for you for a very small monthly fee, or, if you have hosting already, we'll need your hosting access and ftp info.
We will draw up an initial mockup of your proposed home page. Mockups are not working web pages; they are simply drawings that will look like your final page. A mockup explores placement of photos and text, typefaces, page columns, etc.
Using the initial mockup as a starting point, we'll discuss what you like, what you don't like, and other features you'll want to include.
We'll go back to the drawing table to finalize the mockup. This is where we need to make sure your website architecture is right. Things to pay particular attention to are:
Content placement - the placement of the text and the images on the page.
Header placement - the top banner placement at the top of the page.
Menu - whether it will be a top or side menu.
At this point, we'll need to collect the text and images for your site. If you don't have much to start with, we can always buy images from inexpensive stock libraries, and we can whip up some quick text to get us started.
Coding (programming) is done once everything is ready. At this stage, we'll bring the mockup to life. A temporary website will be available for you to view progress. We encourage feedback. Basic sites take a couple of weeks to get through the coding stage.
After everything is done, and you've had a final look and given us your approval, we'll make your site live on the web, fully working and ready to send your customers to.
After your website is up and running, there are always a few adjustments to make as your products and services change. With our cheap maintenance plan we can be retained to make ongoing changes to your new website.
